The reason for evil in the world is that people are not able to tell their stories.
Carl Gustav Jung
We can keep our walls up and even build new ones, so that we can easily pretend the problem is with those on the other side or we can create the space of truth and love by opening our hearts, minds and homes to our neighbor and their stories. If you want to build something, then build a place for rest and restoration where both you and your neighbor can be known and accepted. Never forget that nothing good grows in fear and isolation. At the deepest level, we are all human beings who desperately need each other to become our best selves, and we especially need those who we think are very different from us. To be healthy is to be whole and it is to be an active participant in the health of our neighbors and our communities.
