Trust Starts With Love and Truth

excerpt for Let food Be Thy Gift

Trust starts with love and truth

What are the results being produced by programs and formulas? What are we taught to value and the definitions of success that we are encouraged to believe? What have competition, consumerism and control produced in our cultures, communities, families and individual selves?

Do you think we have forgotten Who We Are and how we are designed to be living, breathing, thinking and feeling creatures who live in a living, breathing, thinking and feeling world in relationship with other living, breathing, thinking and feeling creatures? Given our Pinterest board approach to life, do you think we have forgotten order, progression, rhythm, flow and timing. Have we been paralyzed by misinformation and have we lost the common understanding that health is not a result but who we are, and we are naturally designed to strengthen our health through a daily practice of nourishing our spirits, hearts, minds, bodies and relationships with the basics?

The “health and wellness” industry has produced so much fear and unrest with a constant flow of misleading marketing campaigns and weight-loss formulas that most people do not trust their bodies. Instead of knowing who we are and how we are designed to be healthy, we live in fear just waiting for our bodies to betray us. All the while, we consume in ways that betray our bodies and prime them for sickness and disease. Do you think that your body has betrayed you? Or have you betrayed your body? Do you fear your own body?

Remember, we are not designed to live in fear but in trust. However, we cannot have trust without having healthy relationships with ourselves, others and our world. Healthy relationships cannot be built on competition and consumption but on the love and truth that sets us free to Breathe, Listen, Ask, Look and Move to nourish and be nourished.
