The Healthcare Racket

I don’t know if you are looking for health insurance and you have been on healthcare.gov this year but there is a serious problem when the majority of plans available have high monthly payments and high deductibles that are $17,000. This is not only insane, but it is the direct result of a healthcare industry that is completely broken.

I keep asking myself why no one is taking this on. Where is the outrage and the protest that we seem to unleash at every issue that means basically nothing about rights and responsibilities? Where are our leaders, government officials, consumer advocates and public commentators when it comes to something that really is affecting us collectively and affecting every area of our individual lives- why aren’t we saying something when we have no problem saying something about everything else?

This is absurd. There is no reason why medical insurance should be higher than a car payment or as a high as a mortgage payment. There is no reason why we are literally playing Russian roulette when we go to pick an insurance plan. I shouldn’t have to play the odds with my healthcare when I work very hard to be healthy.

This is insane!

Five years ago, it was said that the epidemic of diet-related disease and sickness would crush the healthcare industry. Now combine 88% of Americans having some form of diet-related disease and sickness with a pandemic and for profit companies and private equity firms running hospitals and fraudulently billing health insurance companies and health insurance companies still making record profits in 2020 (Anthem, which operates Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in 14 states, Wednesday said net income doubled to nearly $2.3 billion in the second quarter ended June 30 compared to $1.1 billion in the year ago quarter.)… and what you have is an old fashioned racket being legally accepted and even distributed to you by the government.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to easily see all the “costs” are being passed to the consumer in a country who “spends more on health care than all the other wealthy democracies in the world. I laugh hysterically whenever I hear anyone rail against socialized healthcare because WE ALREADY HAVE SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE. Everyone is paying for the pandemic, the epidemic of diet-related disease and sickness and the record profits made at every level.

Even worse, than pretending that we don’t have socialized healthcare system, is that this lie allows capitalistic greed and self-interest to plunder and pillage anyone needing or wanting healthcare- HEALTHCARE!!!- while spreading the cost to all of us.
