Daily Prayers

Pray for resurrection of life, love and truth.

Pray for renewal of hope, imagination, trust, curiosity, love of learning, love of self and neighbor and the willingness to live and die for something more than power, political parties, money and status.

Pray for the recovery of personal responsibility for our spirits, hearts, minds, bodies and relationships.

Pray for us to be reconnected with creation and the restoration of our places, our people and our purpose.

Pray for someone you are in a real relationship with, someone you know, something you struggle with and for peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control to be manifested in how you speak, think, feel, eat, work, play and live.

Pray for the orphans, the widows and the strangers who live in our families, neighborhoods and communities.

Pray for the ability to serve, give, turn your cheek, share, lay your life down, forgive, show mercy, love your enemies and sacrifice all that you have been given in ways that will never be praised or rewarded here on earth.

Pray that you will see the log in your own eye, that you will become aware of your own blindness and the hardness of your heart and the hate that you hold onto and the ways you justify it.

Pray for eyes to see, ears to hear and mouths to speak love and truth in a world poisoned by lies, fear mongering, rapaciousness, acquisitiveness, gluttony, covetousness and pride.

Good Lord, I pray that you open our mouths to lament all the ways we have failed to love you, ourselves, our neighbors and your good creation. Forgive us for our lack of desire and passion for ordinary life, ordinary work and ordinary people.

Forgive us that we use our time and our prayers to justify evil men and evil deeds that have done nothing to imitate Jesus Christ. Forgive us for wanting our wills to be done and our kingdoms to built on earth.

Good Lord- I pray that we (Christians) begin to move in new ways to heal, to restore, to help, to offer rest and to reach out beyond party lines, our false-selves, our out of control egos, our hurt feelings and our dull understanding to love our neighbors. I pray we turn off the TV and we get busy fighting the good fight with love like our lives on earth and in heaven depend on it- because they do.

I ask all this in the name of Jesus who did not come to judge the earth but to drag us to you. Fill us up Lord with love and ever more love till it runs out of ever pore in our bodies.

“Love and ever more love is the only solution to every problem that comes up.
If we love each other enough, we will bear with each other’s faults and burdens.
If we love enough, we are going to light a fire in the hearts of others.
And it is love that will burn out the sins and hatreds that sadden us. It is love that will make us want to do great things for each other. No sacrifice and no suffering will then seem too much.”
